Privacy policy

This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It covers this website and the MegaRider platform and mobile app.
Who is responsible
MegaRider is the controller of the data described here. For any question about this policy, or to exercise any of the rights below, write to hello@megarider.cy.
What we collect
If you apply to join the testing. We store your name, country and city, your contact email, your platform, how you heard about us and what you told us about yourself, and — if you gave them — your Apple ID and Google account (when they differ from the email: we use them to add you to TestFlight and Google Play testing), your Telegram username, your motorcycle and whether you apply as a rider, club or business. We also store which button you used, the language of the page, and a one-way hash of your IP address. The application is passed to the MegaRider platform admin (same operator) and used only for the invite and testing-related messages. After you apply we email you a link: the application is accepted only once you confirm through it that the address is yours. The hash exists only to limit how many times the form can be submitted from one place; it cannot be turned back into your address.
If you create an account on the platform. Your name or nickname, email, and whatever you choose to add to your profile — photo, motorcycles, routes, club memberships.
If you enable live tracking or record rides. Your location while the feature is active. This is optional, it is off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time.
Platform usage statistics. When you use the platform's app or website, we record the days you were active and the device you used: a random installation identifier (it changes if you reinstall the app), the platform and app version, the device model (a machine code such as "iPhone16,2", not the name you gave your phone), the system version, and the device language and time zone. Your country is determined from your IP address — the address itself is not stored for this. If ride recording is on, your coordinates are used to determine the country where a ride starts and the country you are currently in. If you give a reason or a comment when deleting your account, we keep those too.
What you use in the app. In the app and on the platform's website we record how much time you spend there and which sections and features you use: opening the app and its screens, navigation, radio, intercom, weather, map search, tapping "Share", connecting to CarPlay, running into paid features, opening notifications. We record the action itself, its time and duration — never the content: no texts, no search queries, no coordinates.
Where you came from and the links you share. When you sign up, we record where you came from: whose link you followed, the campaign tags (utm) and the website you came from — its address only, not the page. For this, the platform's website and the app keep the first page or link you opened, for up to 30 days. When someone opens a link you shared (a ride, live tracking, a club or intercom invite), we record the open: which link, the opener's country from their IP address and, if they are signed in or sign up afterwards, who they are. Automatic link previews by messengers are not counted.
Automatically. Standard server logs, which contain the IP address, the time of the request and the page requested.
Why we are allowed to
- Your consent — for the testing application and for location data. You give it explicitly and can withdraw it at any time.
- Performing a service you asked for — running your account, showing you the map, delivering your messages.
- Our legitimate interest — keeping the service secure and free of abuse, and understanding how the platform is used so we can improve it (usage statistics).

Closing your account removes your data within 30 days.
Who else sees it
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.
Usage statistics are seen only by MegaRider administrators. Whoever shared a link does not see who exactly opened it. We determine your country from your IP address on our own server using an offline database (IP Geolocation by DB-IP) — the address is not sent anywhere.
Data is processed by the companies that host the service and deliver our email on our behalf, under contracts that bind them to the same protection. Anything you publish yourself — a profile, a route, a post — is visible according to the privacy settings you choose.
Where it is stored
On servers located in the European Union.
How to delete your account
You can delete your MegaRider account and all data associated with it yourself — in the MegaRider mobile app (iPhone and Android) or on the platform website app.megarider.cy:
- Sign in and open Profile → Settings.
- In the Danger zone section, tap Delete account.
- Confirm with your password. Telling us why you are leaving is optional.
You are signed out on all devices right away, and 14 days later the account and its data are erased permanently. Changed your mind? Sign in again before that date and cancel the deletion.
If you no longer have the app or cannot sign in, write to hello@megarider.cy from the email address of the account — we will delete it manually and confirm by reply.
What is deleted: your profile and photos, motorcycles and garage (service book, fuel log, documents), recorded rides with all their points, routes and map points, your posts and the comments under them, chat messages, marketplace listings, privacy zones, achievements, subscriptions, notifications, usage statistics and device data.
What stays, without your name: comments and likes on other riders' posts and reviews of other riders — unlinked from you, so other people's discussions do not break. A club you founded passes to the most senior remaining member. A de-identified record of the closed account remains (see the table above), and server logs are kept for up to 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what data we hold about you,
- correct it,
- delete it,
- give you a copy in a portable format,
- stop or limit a particular use,
- withdraw a consent you gave earlier.
Write to hello@megarider.cy and we will answer within one month. If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
Analytics
The platform and the mobile app use no third-party analytics: the usage statistics described above are collected and stored only by us.
On this website we count visits with Yandex.Metrica (counter 98152624). It sets its own cookies and collects de-identified data about how you use the site: pages, referrers, device, approximate region from your IP address, and session recordings — cursor movement, scrolling and clicks (Webvisor).
That data is processed by Yandex LLC and stored on its servers, including outside the European Economic Area. We use it only to understand what works on the site and what does not — never for advertising or profiling.
You can opt out in two ways: turn on "Do Not Track" in your browser, which Metrica honours, or install Yandex's official opt-out add-on.
Cookies
This website sets no advertising cookies. The platform's website (app.megarider.cy) keeps your sign-in, a random installation identifier, the first page you opened and action records not yet sent (for the statistics above) in your browser — this is technical storage, not cookies, and it is not shared with third parties. The only cookies it sets are Metrica's — see the section above. It stores your language choice locally in your browser so the site does not ask again — that is technical storage, and it never leaves your device.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Substantial changes will be announced on the site.
